I have a certain sympathy towards the famous Pulp Barbarian. Not only because Conan is a good role model - much needed these days, but also for a more personal reason.

It is the original Howard's novel cycle that my Dad used to read me before bedtime instead of yer regular fairy tales. Well, of course, he was reading it himself first. Just aloud everywhere except for the spicy moments. I was fascinated.

Now, in these difficult times, I referred to the original short novels again, read by another great narrator. Listened through 'em all. Their soothing rhythm helps to cope, to move on.

Referring to The Phoenix on the Sword since it's the hologram of the author's future plan. Conan is already a King, but his story is yet to be told. Accompanied by a poem that sets the mood of the protagonist, as well as the iconic introductory passage.
