The last (to date) book from the "uplifted species series" (Children of Time, Children of Ruin) reads shorter and a bit less exciting than its predecessors. The new species in line - intelligent crow bird pairs (which form funny marker - classifier tandems) do not get enough spotlight. And what does is quite repetitive - intentionally so.
Still a good book and a well enough sequel tho the great series. I have a hunch that much of contemporary literature, from now on, will remind me of the Children of Memory.
